Based on this chapter, the majority that was primarily focused is about understanding what your vision will be. An example they mentioned in order to help us with this vision is to list about twenty key words and phrases that you think the project is all about. After it, you answer questions such as What do you stand for? What do you stand against? and What do you believe in? That said, mine includes:
- Sensitive, emotional, thoughtful, life changing, supporting, different, realistic, comforting, hopeful, interesting, weird, warm, cold, difficult, strong, new era, unrealistic, breaking boundaries, norms.
- What I stand for is equality and people's rights. What I stand against is prejudice, discrimination, racism, and inequality. What I believe in is that all people should be treated the same and never be mistreated to due to their race. I also believe people should be themseleves and not be mannequins just to not experiece shame or pain from society.
With that being mentioned, another thing that was brought up is how your bio is an important release of your music. Not to mention, it reveals why people should care about your music. That said, this includes a quote, hook, accolades, newest project and the boring stuff (Backstory, influences and song meanings). With the mentioning of this, mine will include:
- quote (lyric from a song):
" They say to live, love, and laugh
all that type of b******t
but when we do
we get shame cause' of it" - Joaquin Gutierrez
- hook: I want to show that everybody experiences difficulties and struggles just by being human. From emotions, body images, sexuality, life experiences to traumas, we have at least witness one of these type of situations. I want to show that we are not the only person that experiences this and we should be empathetic and take consideration towards other people.
- accolades: I am artist who wants to challenge the world. I am an artist who wants to fight against barriers. This is what makes me stand out.
- newest project: I have album that is the second series from my first album. It will be like a flower still continuing to grow despite the harsh conditions it faced.
- boring stuff: The song identity is about having a mental breakdown. You are so lost in life and you are at point where you do not know who you are and what you want to do. It basically makes you feel like you are in a different world.
With this setup, even though the book talks about this it also talks about how we should know how to verbally describe our band. To help with this type of situation, the book mentions how we should pick two or three artist people say you sound like. That said, mine include,
- Billie Eilish met Isaac Dunbar
- Conan Gray and Isaac Dunbar are best friends
- Zedd and Billie Eilish are relatives
- Finneas and Billie get along with each other
- Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish are best friends
