Based on this assignment, I had to create a 3 track MIDI without using any loops. I got my MIDI from Garageband. The instruments I decided to use were Wandering voices, pop producer keys, and Lush ambient waves. During the process, it was kinda time-consuming to put each individual note on the piano roll since I do not have a MIDI cable to connect to my piano. That said, I decided to use Wandering voices, pop producer keys, and Lush ambient waves since I wanted to create a song that gives off a choir-atmospheric-like vibe. I used the ambient noise to fill up the empty space. Although you can not hear the sound, the Lush ambient waves are filling up space that Wandering voices could not do. I decided to use Wandering voices first since it is going to be the first instrument that begins the song. At one of the measures of the song, There are no instruments being played until the next measure. From there, I added the rest of the instruments so that the song sounds more full and different. I used the pop producer keys to play the melody so it does not sound basic and dull.

Even though it was fun to create an original MIDI song without using any loops, I have some thoughts based on the end result and how I could do better next time. When I completed the song, I felt somewhat satisfied but not completely since my song was almost coming to life but it is not what I envisioned. If I were able to do this again without having to worry about time and ability, the way how I would approach this differently is by using an actual MIDI keyboard and also use a different software system to produce my song. I would also use different instruments since the instruments I decided were almost accurate, but they were not what I wanted. That said, this assignment is fun and it made me realize how the process works with MIDI.
