EQ Ear Trainer
During the process of the EQ Trainer, what I did was mess around with the filters based on the given options (Boost, cut, Boost/cut) and apply it to the audio sources and see if I can match the filter correctly. So, the first one I did was a Boost filter and having Pink noise as my audio source. What I noticed with this filter is that the more gain you put, the more of a "presence" it has. However, with gain added, the higher the frequency, the higher the pitch of the audio source will sound. As a result, I managed to match the sound.
The next filter I decided to use next was the Cut filter with Funky blues audio source. What I noticed with this one is that the less gain applied as well as frequency, the more it had of a tinning-like sound. However, the more frequency you add, it kinda sounded normal with it sounding more present but it is not dramatic because there's some tinning-like sound into it.
The final filter I decided to use next was the Boost/Cut filter with Wade in the Water audio source. What I noticed in this one is that this was the Boost and Cut filter mixed together. So, anything with less Gain was the Cut filter while anything with more gain was the Boost filter. As a result, it was a matter of trying to find the appropriate sound that was given so that I can match it in which I managed to do in the end.
Overall, what I learned from the experience is that you can create unique sounds with these filters and they serve a different purpose whether it comes to using it artistically or to solve an audio issue when it comes to mixing and such. I did not have that much of an issue since I am able to hear the difference when these filters are applied. However, there were situations where it was kinda difficult since some of the filters used were not changed dramatically and nearly sounded normal. However, as I practiced, it did get better to be able to tell the difference. So, this practice was very fun to learn.
