recording assignment
Based on this assignment, I had to create a piece of music using 3 three audio recordings while also adding loops and MIDI notes I have generated. For instruments, I chose Lunar Pools, Synths, Audio Recorder, and Dancing Pulse Chords. I used the Lunar Pools to create my MIDI. The audio recordings were the ones I made based on different environments. My loops were Dancing Pulse Chords and Synths (four of them are the same name but they have a different rhythm and sound). With that being mentioned, The reason why I chose and made these audio recordings is that it reminds me of background instrumental for a movie or when an issue currently happening. I used one of the loops so that it can be the main melody. The rest of the loops were used to enhance the effect for the song while also trying to fill up space so that it does not sound empty.
The MIDI track was used to somewhat carry the low-ends and act as a bass. I also used a special audio loop so that it can surprise people since the song is going to be repetitive. For dynamics, I did not do much since the instruments I chose were great. However, the only time I actually added dynamics is when either the recording or the instrument is too loud or if it ruins the quality and effect of the song. For mixing, I did not do a lot of work except for the audio recordings since some of them were a bit too quiet or too loud. For panning, I only did it to the melody of the synth and the Dancing pulse chords so that it can create an interesting sound. Although it is not exaggerated, you can somewhat notice that they are not in the middle of the head atmosphere.
Although this assignment was fun to do, it left me with some opinions based on how I did. The steps I decided to approach were to record any audio and try to find different instruments that complement well with it. This turned out to be successful since it made me realize how there are different possibilities of making music and at one point, one instrument or recording will go well with another instrument of recording. Plus, it also gave me inspiration on the way how I should make the song since I did not know what to do in the beginning. In the end, I managed to make something that I wanted to do and have successfully made it. Although I do still need to work on the quality of the audio, this does not matter that much right now since I want to focus on putting my ideas into context. That said, this assignment was very fun and it made me realize of the different possibilities I can do and that I do not have to limit myself.
