1st tutorial and 1st synth composition

For this project, I decided to use my project I was working on since I was using a synth for it as well. That said, I used an analog sweep synth. However, I used the preset "thick chorus" for this project since it gives a bigger emphasis to the song I made in my opinion. Even though It is a preset already made, I need to know how the sound was achievable based on the tools and settings given. That said. when messing around with the settings, one of the first things I noticed is how the cutoff, sustain, and release is responsible for the sound being able to be heard for this synth. Without it, you would get no sound. The attack is responsible for how fast or slow the synth should reach a certain note, the sustain is what makes the note duration sound longer, the release is for the amount of time it sets for the sound to decay, and decay is the time it takes for the sound to finally stop making noise. Finally, the cutoff is responsible for blocking certain frequencies or sounds.

With that being said about the major functions of the synth, additional and important functions such as the chorus and delay+reverb are what help the synth sound for space and full while not being dull.

Overall, this project has been fun learning. I think one issue I had is trying to explain how each setting works. I think it made me realize how I still need to learn more in-depth how each thing works and how they all help make a certain and distinctive synth sound. Other than that, it was really interesting learning.
