Chapter 3 blogpost

Based on this chapter, it focused on knowing who your fans are before you begin the writing-recording. That said, if I were to be an artist, my fans would be:

- primarily female but also male

- at the age between 15-30

- gen-z

- politically active and care for equal rights

- who struggle with life or mental health

- favorite bands are Panic at the disco, Imagine Dragons, Echosmith, and Paramore

- favorite artist are Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Conan Gray, Isaac Dunbar, Dua Lipa, and Zedd

- go to coffee shops frequently

- open-minded and educated

- wear bright clothes

- go shopping frequently

-listen to pop, alternative, and electronic

- like to challange old traditions

This is what I think based on how my demographic would look like. With that being mentioned, for my upcoming album, the sound of it will be dark, emotional and catchy in a way. It is basically an influence of all of my favorite artists. The playlist of songs that I will use as an inspiration for my upcoming album will be:

With this playlist, these are my most favorite. For instance, I put more songs by Billie since she inspires me the most due to her voice and antipop songs that are filled with emotion. However, other songs such as "Oceans (where feet may fail" by Hillsong UNITED and "Rain on me" by Lady Gaga also inspire me due to their amazing instrumental. In terms of voice, Demi Lovato and Camila also inspire me because Demi's voice is powerful and Camila's voice is powerful but very mellow. In terms of stories, Isaac Dunbar's song "Comme de garcons (like the boys" is my favorite since it talks about Isaac facing toxic and stereotypical masculinity as an LGBTQ. That said, when making my upcoming album, my biggest influence will be Billie Eilish since she has the style and voice I want to create. I want to use dark melodies that are emotional but also catchy and Billie manages to fit that description for me. The other artist will also influence but it will not be as much. They will either influence me for lyrics, stories or instruments.
